iMac Wireless Audio Output

Can my personal computer, an iMac, wirelessly transmit audio that is from my browser, eg. YouTube, to my new audio video receiver (avr), a Denon AVR-S750H? If the answer is "Yes", please tell me how.

i personally use an avantree roxa plus BT receiver connected to a non BT home stereo. i however did not set it up via airplay. all i needed to do was open BT preferences on my iMac, and then pair the roxa plus with my iMac's built in BT transmitter. now when i want to send audio to the stereo, i first click on the menubar BT icon and choose the roxa plus.

i can then choose the roxa plus from the menubar sound options.

but there are two things to consider if you want the audio to sync with the video over BT.

first, you need to ensure that the BT receiver is aptX Low Latency capable.

and second, you need the mac's BT transmitter to also be fast enough to work at low latency speeds, other wise you need a third party USB aptX Low Latency transmitter.

without low latency speeds, the audio will be about four tenths of a second (or more) behind the video displayed on the TV.

EDIT: you could set up your Denon AVR-S750H in a similar fashion if it is aptX Low Latency capable.

The partial answer is YES. I got this far.

Apple has a built in macOS feature called airplay. If both your pc & your avr have the feature, it will/should work.

This is what I figured out.

To start, familiarize yourself with the menu bar item on the top right near the date & time. Apple says:

To view Control Center, click the Control Center icon  in the menu bar.

Next, open the site on your browser

Then open Control Center

In the drop down menu in the Sound dialog box select the Audio icon on the right hand side

On the drop down will appear sources for your audio output

Select your avr

Move your pointer out of Control Center box & it will close.

That's as far as I got. No audio out of the Denon avr even though the screen said airplay.
