How do I delete photos from iCloud and still have them on my iphone?

I want specific photos to stay in my icloud and I want the rest to stay, but I don't want to lose the photos I delete from my iphone. When I click on the delete button iCloud warns me that those pictures will be deleted from the iphone as well. How to prevent that?

iPhone SE, iOS 14

You can't as iCloud photos is not a backup service but a syncing service. As such, the photos on your phone mirror what's in iCloud and what's deleted in either place will be deleted in both places.
