iPhone 4 compatible with 4G ?

So I figure when they release the new iPhone next summer I'm **** out of luck cause now I can't upgrade until 2012. But is this current iPhone 4 already compatible or are they just gonna say no it's not so they can put that on the newer generation

It's real - LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the upcoming international cellular standard to replace GSM and its related technologies. Most carriers around the world have started rollout of LTE, and there are a few phones that support it. AT&T has, and even standards-ignoring Verizon has said their next new thing will be LTE. For wireless data its chief advantage will be low latency (< 10 ms), which, with its 100 Mbps download speed should really make it possible to use up your 5 GB allowance in a day or two 😉
