Upgrade to Monterey - havoc with iTunes

Last evening I upgraded from Mojave to Monterey on my iMac.

This morning I find that:

  • Playlists (extensive - built over many years) are not showing up in Apple Music
  • TV shows and movies are not showing up in Apple TV

This is a disaster for me ... and I cannot find a way to fix this.

Any ideas/suggestions are welcome. Seriously irritated at this ...

As a rule you would option-start-Music and open your iTunes Library.itl to convert it to the Music format. Same with the TV app for TV and video. Getting audiobooks into the Books app is a manual affair and it doesn't seem to be possible to import podcasts.

Well I managed to solve one problem ... the Playlists from iTunes.

I went to the Music app and selected File Import.

From there I navigated to my old iTunes folder and selected the iTunes Library.xml.

It took a while but I now see my playlists. Haven't had time to see if they really work!!

The Movies and TV shows are proving more elusive ... ideas/suggestions are welcome!

Thanks.
