I do not want holidays on the calendar. That causes the appointments, etc. that I DO need to not show unless I click on it as a "1 more." Can this be changed and if not, would it do any good to complain to Apple?

Select the calendars to display from the listing at left.
You may need to expand accounts (down arrow) or toggle display (icon below):

Open calendar app
Tap calendars at the bottom
Select the calendars
