Notify When Found toggle??!

Hi all,

I was messing around in the Find My App and noticed that by default, ‘notify when found’ is turned off for all devices and items. I then turned on Bluetooth, and then it greyed out, not allowing me to turn it on. I was just curious as to if anyone truly knows how this setting works. I would think this should be on by default? And why would Bluetooth affect this? Just seemed strange. Thanks!

This setting is only active when a given device can’t be located: You see Offline under the device’s name. The last known location is displayed for up to 24 hours. Select “Notify me when found” to get an email when it’s located again.

If a given device can be located then the ‘Notify me when found’ option is greyed out because the device is already located (found).
