Apple Watch activity ring and stair climbing

I’m 69 y/o 180 lb. Man. If I close the Green ring with 60 minutes of solely stair climbing and incidental walking and movement between climbing sessions will that be sufficient as daily exercise for the purpose of maintaining heart, weight, and diabetic health? Can this supplant walking to close this particular ring.

This is really more of a medical question than a technical question about the watch. So, I am hesitant to answer it, but I would think that those activities should be sufficient for maintaining your health (maybe even better than simply walking). As far as the watch is concerned, any "vigorous" movement with the watch arm for a continuous minute should give you credit toward the exercise ring. For what it is worth, I find that activities such as mowing the lawn are a lot more strenuous than simply walking. But since I am holding on to the lawn mower handle and not swinging my arm, I get a lot less credit toward the exercise goal.
