Apple watch showing wrong location in find my device

We went away on the weekend, I left my apple watch at home yet it showed that it was with me with me on our holiday location. I tried everything I can think of when we arrived home (re-paired/ checked location setting etc. ). Anything I missed?

Find my IPhone - apple watch Hi, So I have lost my Apple Watch. I have been using the find my iPhone app to track its location (although I thought it may still be in the house somewhere). When I access the find my iPhone app it states that the watch is “at home” but the icon appears further away from my iPhone and AirPods which are actually at home (as shown in picture). The location is regularly updating, although I was sure if it were at home it would be out of battery. My iPhone is not connected to it via Bluetooth so did not think its location would update based on my iPhones location as a result. Why is this happening? Could someone have it? I have turned on lost mode.

Why does the "Find My..." app show the location of my Apple Watch as the location of my cell phone? I haven't worn my Apple Watch for a month or so and I only recently realized that it's not where I thought I left it...I'm pretty sure the battery is probably not charged anymore but when I go to the "Find My Apple Stuff" app, it always shows my Apple Watch where my phone is located even though the watch is not with me :( I click on the "Play Sound" for my watch and it says it's playing it but I don't hear anything...I have marked it as lost but I guess I'm wondering, if I did lose it and someone finds it and charges it up, would it show the location on my app? I had a passcode for the watch and I read another post which said that they wouldn't be able to use it...it's just weird that it shows the location of my phone and not my watch :S

Thank you for your reply, it was on a charger at home. Locked but not switched off ;)

Did the watch have an internet connection?,if not then it couldn't transmit it's location and findmy will show the position of the phone not the watch.
