Can you use one My Passport device to back up two computers?

It's possible, but a bad idea. You basically have all your eggs in one basket; drives fail, not partitions. If you lose the drive you lose both machine's backups.

As cheap as HDDs have gotten, security is enhanced by having at least one external drive dedicated to each computer.
