Stickies Database file

Hello. Trying to migrate stickies from an old MBP to a new one, running 12.3.1. I've read some of the threads that refer to the location of the StickiesDatabase file in the Library, but I am not seeing this file in the Library. And when I pull my old Database file over, Stickies doesn't seem to recognize it.

Is there some other Stickies-related file in the new MBP I need to delete to force it to see the Database I brought over?

Thanks for any guidance.

Kevin

There are 3 different Libraries...

Your user data is ~/Library

see if there is anything here in this old information

Finder>Go>Go To Folder> copy and paste:

~/Library/StickiesDatabase

"StickiesDatabase" the contents in document format that lives in the

~/Library

the plist lives here:

~/Library/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.stickies.plist

~/Applications/Stickies.app

Something is off. I just noticed that the StickiesDatabase file in the ~Library of my old MBP isn't current. It's only current until 2019. So...was there a point where MacOS moved the file elsewhere? I can't seem to find it, and thus can't move it to the new MBP.

By the way, my new MBP has no such file. I brought the old StickiesDatabase file into the user library, and it doesn't see it.

The ~/Library/StickiesDatabase file prior to macOS Catalina is a digest format file. Beginning with macOS Catalina, that StickiesDatabase is automatically migrated by the operating system and split into separate UUID named RTFD folders containing text.rtf for each stickie. These are obscured down in the Library folder and not intended for user access. After the migration, the original ~/Library/StickiesDatabase file is no longer used.

You can sift around in the following location:

~/Library/Containers/Stickies/Data/Library/*
