Apple Music computer authorization issues

I recently bought a 2022 MacBook Air with the M1 chip to replace my late 2010 MacBook Air and am having an issue in Music when I try to play music from about 30 albums on my 2022 MacBook Air which thinks for some reason that my computer is not authorized to play any song from those 30 albums.

Here's the sequence of events:

  1. Select album and hit"Play".
  2. Dialog box opens saying "This computer is not authorized... etc: (see attached graphic).
  3. I enter my AppleID and password.
  4. Another dialog box says "This computer has been reauthorized... you now have 2 of 5 computers authorized"
  5. Select album and hit"Play".
  6. Get into exactly the same loop.

This problem does NOT exist on my Late 2010 MacBook Air - I can play the songs that will not play on my 2022 MacBook Air.

To me, it "feels" like there is and "authorization" bit in the stored file that is not being set correctly during the computer authorization process for those music files.

Is anyone else having or had the same problem and know how to fix it?

I'm going to try deleting one of the offending albums and restoring it next, to see if that makes a difference.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.3

Repeated requests to authorize an already authorized computer for store downloads typically indicates you have corrupt or incomplete copies. Backup and then delete the tracks that won't play from your library without hiding from your purchase history. Redownload using the cloud links that should remain, or close iTunes/Music and reopen if they don't show up straight away. While downloading click the activity widget and turn off the option that allows for simultaneous downloads.
