How do I determine where a file is ;located on my MacBook Air?

If there is no Spotlight magnifying glass in your menu bar (as is my case) then the key combination ⌘Space will bring up Spotlight. If your MacBook Air is the recent M1 model then there is a dedicated key for this: F4. When you identify the file in the Spotlight results, select it and then press ⌘ which will reveal the filename and path where it resides.
