Apps incl. Safari keep refreshing

Hello,

For a week now, every time I’d exit an app, it’d refresh, no matter how short my time off it was. For example, I’d copy a link from YouTube and send it to a friend on Facebook, by the time I get back to YouTube, the app would boot up from the start. I turned off Background App Refresh, but safari does this too. It can get pretty annoying especially when studying since I’d like to be able to read through textbooks, write notes, and research topics by jumping between apps without having each one reload.

I hope this makes sense and any help is appreciated.

Hi Aracarm,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Are you switching apps using these steps?

"To see all your open apps, Split View workspaces, and Slide Over windows in the App Switcher, do one of the following:

  • On all iPad models: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then pause in the center of the screen.
  • On an iPad with a Home button: Double-click the Home button."

It sounds like you might be quitting the apps as mentioned here:

"To quit an app, open the App Switcher, then swipe up on the app.

To reopen the app, go to the Home Screen (or the App Library), then tap the app."

Quitting the apps would more than likely make you lose your place in the app.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
