My Iphone will not allow me to use my phone number for imessage

It appears that the iMessage has not been properly activated on your iPhone.
Open Settings ➡️ Messages ➡️ iMessage: Set this to OFF and then back to ON after a few seconds. This will begin the iMessage activation process again and may provide you the option to choose your phone number.
