Deleting Some, But Not All Data from Health App

I was looking at the data stored in my Health app, and I realized that it has daily heart-rate data since 2017. I know how to delete all my data, but I really don't want to do that. I'd like to keep a year's data and delete the rest.

Is there a way to do that without having to go into "Show All Data" and delete them day by day? And is there a setting where you can automatically have it delete data after a set time-period (like you can do for deleting emails)?

I have an iPhone 13 running iOS 15.4.1 and an Apple Watch Series 7 GPS running watchOS 8.5.1

No and no.

The data takes up very little space so, if that's why you're considering deleting it, it's not worth the effort.

Hey there balithai,

In order to delete specific data instead of all data, use the steps below:

  1. "Open the Health app and tap the Browse tab.
  2. Tap a category, like Activity.
  3. Tap a subcategory, like Steps.
  4. Tap Show All Data, then tap Edit in the upper-right corner.
  5. Tap the Delete button next to the record you want to delete. You can also tap Delete All to delete every record."

Take care!

Thank you for the answers.

I hope they add this functionality. Because no, it is not for freeing up space. If I need to print a report to share with a physician who wants to see all heart rate record data points for every day for a set period of time, it is immensely difficult to export that data with 6 years of records. With the Health App, you seem to only be able to export all records, and with the 3rd party apps I've tried, they do not seem to drill down to all data points for each day - they report the summaries for each day.
