Apple tv

Just cam back from months away and my Apple TV older generation isn’t working. I can’t get the menu up on the screen. It just says computer-settings and the remote does nothing. I’ve unplugged everything at least once including the router/modem etc over the last few days. Any ideas before I toss it

If you see only Computers and Settings, then the Apple TV doesn’t find a functional internet connection. Either the device is not connected in software, or there is a hardware disconnect, or the home network has no internet connectivity.

If you connect through Wi-Fi, then verify the Network settings.

Thanks for your reply but nothing seems to be working to get this Apple TV to work. Even though it says it’s not connected to the internet it shows the screen saver screen. I can’t see why there is no internet to the device. Now it doesn’t even bring up the computer/settings on the screen using the remote. The strange thing is that it was working perfectly when we left a few months ago. Grrrr
