I get this message when I try to login: 502 Bad Gateway Certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate

I get this message when I try to login: 502 Bad Gateway Certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate. I can open this site using my iPad, but always get this 503 Bad Gateway when using my iMac. Can someone help me remedy this? It occurs when using Safari or Chrome on my desktop.

Go on the Apple certificate page:

Apple PKI - Apple

Download the Apple Intermediate Certificates

Apple IST CA 2 - G1 Certificate (direct download)

Double click the downloaded certificate to install it in Keychain Access.

You should see it now, in login certificates.

I tried it for this web site, rsa-al.gov and while it opens to the website, when I click on member log-in, that is when I get the 502 error message. The fix, did not work. It's odd that I can get on the site through my iPad. It is just my iMac that is giving me this issue. If you have alternative solutions, I would appreciate hearing from someone. Thanks so much.
