MacOS Monterey Music Automatic Downloads?

I read documentation that mentions checking this option under Music > Preferences, but that option is literally not in Music Preferences, from the application. Further, when I go to Account > Check for available downloads, it reports nothing -- but clearly there are songs that have not downloaded, and I must attend to this manually, which becomes tedious.

The version of my Music application is 1.2.3.56.

I really want, and prefer, my content purchases to automatically download. Does anyone have further information about this issue; for example, why was this option removed? Is it moved elsewhere and how can I better fine-tune my preferences (per the above), so I get a consistent experience?
