How do I get a notice on my mac when a person sends a message? When I try to send a message I get not registered with iMessage?

use your same Apple ID from the iOS device to the Mac. On the Mac go to its preference and check box internet. On the iOS device go to messages in the system and under text forwarding select the computer name found in the Sharing pane found in system preferences on the Mac.
