Security breach of MacBook and iPhone 11 -

My iPhone seems to have been used to open my personal bank account. Tracking showed another device in a different state attempted to open my account. I was asked by the bank to go to the cell phone provider to see if 'forwarding' was turned on. It was not turned on. then I was asked to have all my devices scanned for spyware or other software to allow someone to obtain my account username and passwords.

Has anyone else had such an experience and what would you advise to do? Take my computer and devices to Staples/Best Buy to scan or take to an Apple Store?

Thank you!

People get malware installed all the time. Usually by a user action that has fooled them into opening a malware infected email, visiting a "bad" website, using an infected flash drive and etc. Unfortunately it's not all that uncommon. You can scan for malware with MalwareBytes and DetectX Swift apps.

There are no Mac viruses in the wild, but an unwary user can allow infection of the device with malware.

If it were me, I'd immediately change all my passwords and be especially wary of unknown email senders and nefarious websites and not use anybody's USB flash drives but my own. You just have to be careful of actions that can potentially open you to being used by others.

It sounds like you had an attempted security breach which happens when somebody gets your credentials. It appears you dodged a bullet. It's a good thing you talked with your bank, but somebody has you in their sights, or at least did at one time. Maybe you were in some batch of data that was stolen in one of the recent attacks. In that case, it was nothing you did. The institution was at fault with insufficient security. And that. takes you back to changing all your passwords
