request for recommendation: tasks, todos, projects mgmt

Hello,

I am new to the world of Mac OS (MacBook Air, 2020, M1 chip, Mac OS Monterey). I come from the world of Windows. I need a recommendation (or recommendations) for iOS (iPhone, iPad) or Mac OS Monterey for an app or program, that:

·     Will allow me to import holiday lists (not 100% necessary to IMPORT)

·     Will allow me to import birthdays and/or anniversaries from my Contacts list (I do NOT really need IMPORT capabilities, as long as I can enter birthdays and anniversaries, and other annual or monthly or weekly REPEATABLE events)

·     Will allow me to add (edit, delete) events that have a specific date and time and place

·     Will allow me to add (edit, delete) events or tasks that are not time-dated, like ToDo tasks

·     Will allow me to STATUS items

·     Will allow me to group items according to categories (multiple levels)

·     Will allow me to view/report my data in multiple ways (filter, sort, etc), and allow me to print the results

It would be ideal (but totally UNnecessary) if it were able to automatically synchronize iOS AND Mac OS platforms.   I have a (VERY SLIGHT) preference for an iOS solution over a Mac OS solution.

I am quite aware that there are dozens or even hundreds of solutions that handle some of my specified needs. But I guess that some of you have had to deal with this issue, and have found a “perfect” solution.  But you guys and gals know better than me!  And I don’t want to go through the headaches that you have already gone through.  What is a support community for, right????

So, I’m looking for some HELP!!!

I hope my request for a recommendation is clear.

Thanks in advance!!!

David Abraham

The first part of your post seems to refer to Calendar. That will allow you to use Birthday and Holiday calendars. The Holiday are subscription calendars, Birthdays come from your Contact List. You can use iCloud to use Contacts on both the iPhone and the Mac. Those will sync across so long as both devices are logged into the same Apple ID. Events can also be handled in Calendar as well. To Do lists you may wish to look at Reminders, or you can search for other apps in the App Store. I don't use anything that provides different status except completed, so you may need to hear from someone else about that. But I like the fact that my Calendar and Contacts are synced across my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. And I can also access iCloud from another computer if necessary by logging into iCloud on a browser.
