My Mobile Data finishes minutes after I connect my Mobile hotspot with my MacBook

please I need help,

I live in a place where there is no WiFi so I only use my mobile data hotspot, and for the past couple of days, I have been experiencing that my data finishes fast under 10 minutes when I connect my phone to my Mac and the annoying thing is that i am not downloading or streaming anything for this to happen. I only use my safari or Firefox browser to browse normal little stuffs and also use Microsoft Word to write when this always happens in the past couple days.

i tried shutting my Mac couple times, but whenever I turn it back on and reopened the above mention applications, my internet data gets back to running out and I don’t know where to navigate to get to the cause of such internet usage.
