MacBook Pro randomly turns off and won’t always turn back on

I have a MacBook Pro, one year old. If I leave it unattended it shuts down randomly (despite not being on automatic shut down settings) and then sometimes won’t turn on again. It does eventually, but sometimes not until an hour later, or the next day. What is happening?

Hi Jenstelco,

Since you're having issues related to power and the display, an SMC reset may be required.

The system management controller (SMC) controls how your Mac manages power. Resetting the SMC can resolve certain issues related to power, battery, fans, and other features.

Find out how to reset the SMC, and more about this reset, using this link: How to reset the SMC of your Mac

If you got an error message that your Mac restarted because of a problem, follow these steps: If your Mac restarted because of a problem

Hope that helps!
