External monitor can't play Netflix via browser

Hi - I have just added a Dell UltraSharp 27" monitor to my MacBook Air and found that I can only hear sound, but get no pictures for both Netflix and Prime Video.

I am using the supplied USB C cable (from the monitor) and it works well enough for charging.

Am I missing anything obvious? (have already tried a complete monitor power down and disconnecting from my MacBook but to no avail).

If everything else is working as expected when using the external monitor, we'd suggest contacting Amazon and Netflix support.

Thanks - have already tried Netflix and they suggested trying Chrome, which I would prefer not to sure (prefer an uncluttered desktop). Will try Amazon separately.
