Problem updating IPad Pro to 15.02

IPad would lock up when verifying software. Downloaded ITunes to PC as my MAC is too old and cannot be updated to latest version. Indicated that it was extracting software. Showed it was backing up IPad and then the device dropped off the device list. Indicated unknown error—could not be updated (4000). Has anyone else experienced this problem and got it resolved?
