Configurator Wifi Profile dropped before MDM Enrolment finished

I am trying to figure out a process where I can use Apple Configurator to start iPad prep and not require input on the iPad to finish setup. The iPad is in our DEP, in Apple School Manager and assigned to an MDM.

I created a blueprint that installs a wifi profile and prepares the iPad with Automated Enrollment. The iPad gets to the "awaiting final configuration from ..." step then drops from Wifi and then hangs there.

If I click cancel in Apple Configurator and install the wifi profile again, the iPad will re-join the wifi then complete enrollment. Why is the iPad removing the wifi profile it needs to say on wifi for MDM enrollment?

I am trying to achieve a scenario where I can remote into a Mac to wipe and re-setup a large number of iPads. Since I am remote I can't physically interact with the iPads.

How do I achieve this?

In short, the wifi profile can get dropped upon enrollment in the MDM. You would need to have the same profile within the MDM scoped to the device. This should eliminate the error.

What MDM are you using? If you have DEP/ASM and the device is enrolled and you have Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) set up within your MDM, you shouldn't need to remote in and set up the devices.
