Specs on Apple's products are readily available on the Apple website.

How many is "as many as I can get"? MacBooks have a limited number and kinds of ports. the exact number and type is in the specs for the model your choose. Is four USB-C enough?

Current models running Monterey OS are known to not work with certain hubs/docks. To be on the safe side, if you plan on using one, buy from Apple if available. You can search this site to get posts of hubs not working.
