Lost all limited fitness badges

This morning I completed the Earth Day Challenge and the badge showed up on my watch. Later in the day though I noticed that on my phone app all of the special or limited badges had disappeared. I did a forced restart of both phone and watch. That didn't bring them back. Based on other suggestions, I also un-paired and re-paired my watch and phone all while on wi-fi and not just using data. Now all of the limited badges are gone off my watch as well as my phone. Both my phone and watch have been updated to the latest ios. I understand that it can take a few days for the special badges to show up and that is not the issue here, it's that all of them are gone. I can however still see the monthly challenge badges. How can I get them back?
