Hello,
I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good case for a mac book pro 2021 14 inch. I recently bought one and I see that there are tons of hard cases available, but have also seen that some people say that hard cases can ruin the hinges and cause the laptop to overheat, as well as trap dust and debris. I can't seem to find any alternatives and was wondering what others are using

I recommend normal care, no rough treatment and no case at all. Cases can and do sometimes restrict air flow both over the exterior of the Mac as well as through the interior. And that's a bad thing.

+1. Cases trap heat and the Mac being aluminum is expected to be its own heat sink to direct heat away from it. Wrapping it in a case prevents that. I never use a case, and when traveling, I use a padded computer backpack.

Backpacks work well. I always make sure my computer is shut down before carrying in my backpack.
