Motion 5 Won't Export Key Frames

I own a comedy club and I want to animate the comedians names as they take the stage on two side TVS. I've created a great text image and am using "wriggle" to animate the scale in a 10 second motion project.

I've figured out how to add keyframes to the project so the name begins and ends at 100%. This way I can use my show control playback in a loop to continue the video seamlessly until I want to stop it.

It looks great in motion! Seemless loop of the image bouncing around the screen. Problem is, every time I export the movie it just completely ignores the key frames I added to make it loop seamlessly. So when I play it back and loop it, there's a jump at the 10 second mark when the video starts over.

Why is Motion not exporting the exact video I'm looking at in the project including key frames?

Please help.

Thanks,

ML

How big is the “jump” when it loops?

To make it loop seamlessly, ideally you should have one keyframe set just outside of the exported content and not at the last frame.

For example if the project is 10 seconds at 30fps then you should make frame 301 (not 300) equal to the first frame, and export up to frame 300.

You are not doing anything wrong.

You need to temporarily increase the project duration to set that keyframe. Then set it back and the keyframe will remain.

Click the clock above the timeline, so it shows the duration.

It will look like this:

Then click the time area, and type the time:

and press enter.

Adjust the keyframes as needed, and then change the duration back to ten seconds.

Two things:

you may want to try deleting the application preferences. Corrupted preferences do sometimes cause weird behavior. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting Motion and click Delete Preferences.

If the problem persists, could post some screenshots or maybe a youtube video so we can get a look at just how different the export is vs what is seen in

Motion; or perhaps share the Motion project (or a similar sample project) so we can test?

Okay, I did all of that, exported movie and the same thing happened. Looks great in Motion, but the exported file has a huge difference between the first and last frame causing it to jump at the loop.

It's seems like it's not exporting with keyframes. There used to be a setting when exporting that said "include keyframes" with a check box by it, didn't there? I'm not seeing that anywhere when exporting.

Thanks for your help with this, btw. I would really love to figure it out.
