iCloud photos deleted by hacker?

Nearly all photos in my fiancée's ICloud account have been deleted...years of precious memories. It happened Easter Sunday. Suddenly her phone went crazy. It asked her to confirm her identity...then denied the phone belonged to her. At that point she lost access to all her photos and videos. We followed Apple's recovery procedure...but there was nothing in the "Recently Deleted" folder...just a few pics taken shortly after the incident. I assume she was hacked. Not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

Thanks--yes we tried logging directly into ICloud. No sign of the photos there. I keep thinking Apple must have a record of the hack. I appreciate your reply.

Hello,

I am very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. If you checked on device recently deleted, I suggest checking recently deleted in iCloud itself by going to iCloud.com and signing in, then going to the photos and checking it. If you’ve already done that, I doubt you can recover the photos and videos sadly. You should on the other hand change your Apple ID password and contact Apple directly at 1 (800) 692-7753

Again, I’m sorry to hear this news and hope the best for you!

Sincerely,

Captain
