Liftmaster/Chamberlain MyQ Home Bridge - Siri commands only work from MacBook

I have 2 Liftmaster garage door openers and the MyQ Home Bridge configured as their hub. Currently I can control the garage doors via the MyQ app and via the Home app on my iPhone, Watch, and MacBook.

However, when i attempt to use voice commands (Siri) to control the doors ("door 1" and "door 2") via my iPhone, Watch, or HomePod, I get a response of "that action is not supported by your doors". i am saying "open garage door 1" or similar.

But when i use voice commands (Siri) on my MacBook, i am able to control the doors.

All of the Apple devices are up-to-date/latest firmware. The fact that the voice commands work on the MacBook indicate that it is not a configuration issue, but more likely a compatibility issue the 3 other devices.

What gives? And please do NOT tell me to reset the Home Bridge and lifts - setting those up was a complete pita.

well, it appears that it has something to do with the naming of the doors. siri will no respond to "door 1" but works when i rename it to "right door" or other. the number in the name seems(?) to be the culprit.
