Mac Book Pro 15" Mid 2015 heating up too much

Hi All,

I find recently my Mac Book Pro 15" Mid 2015 is heating up too much with just Safari browser and Mail applications operating. I did find this kind of issue earlier when I use it for a Video call or Screen share for more than 30mins.

But the current issue of heating with just simple applications running is a worrisome. Any help?

Thanks & Regards,

Arun

Try the following:

Update macOS.

Try Safe Mode.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac.

If that does not help, then get expert service and support at the Genius Bar.

Run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected.

To look for possible software issues, run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper. If you give EtreCheck "Full Disk Access" the report will include more details which may provide more clues.

You should also check to see if your laptop qualifies for the Battery Recall program listed here:
