No, it's not Ok. Although your first two shortcut actions appear to be correct, as mentioned and shown in my screenshots before, you need more than just two actions. After your "Format Date" action, you need to add a "Get current weather" action, followed by a "Text" action to define what Siri will say, followed by a "Show Result" action to make Siri say it.

"...Can you please take a screenshot of your Shortcut ,but not only part of the shortcut but screen shot of entire shortcut?"

I've posted a screenshot of my entire shortcut before in this thread, but here it is again with Dark Mode turned off. So now you can easily compare my correct shortcut on the left with your latest incomplete shortcut on the right:

I'm not surprised that nothing happens – because when you compare your Good morning! shortcut to mine, you can easily see that your shortcut has only two actions and mine has six...

What should be your shortcut's first action ("Current Date") is missing – so your "Format Date" action has no date-time to format into just a time.

And you haven't given Siri anything to say – you need to add a "Text" action to define what Siri will say, followed by a "Show Result" action to make Siri say it.

The "Stop this shortcut" action at the end is not necessary, so it's okay that you didn't put that in.

That provided me with a fun exercise in learning Shortcuts! I had an awful time naming it because I had a home automation (that I never use) named "Good morning". Finally sorted that out and the rest was clear sailing. Some of the steps don't feel obvious as I was adding them in but I kept plugging, make sure each result looked exactly like yours and it worked a treat!

I've shown you a simple custom shortcut that does exactly what you want. I used it this morning and Siri said: "Good morning Robert! It's 7:16 AM and the weather is 12°C and Partly Cloudy." Siri doesn't include the date because, in the Format Date action, I changed the default Short to None:

...Please post back with a screenshot of your shortcut and someone here (probably me) can help you out.

robertinjo & IdrisSeabright ~ You're both welcome. It's difficult to teach Shortcuts because there are so many steps involved and they're not easy to describe. In another thread, in response to a request for "extra step by step guidance", I created & posted a screen recording (here) – which got no "thanks" at all! 🤷🏼‍♂️

By the way, if you feel that Siri saying "AM" every morning is redundant, make the following minor changes:

  1. In the "Format Date" action, tap on the arrow to reveal the format details.
  2. In the Date Format, tap on None and choose Custom from the pop-up.
  3. Change the Format String to simply HH:MM like this:

Hey there robertinjo,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We're happy to provide some assistance.

Take a look here on how you can run Siri shortcuts:

Run shortcuts with Siri, the Shortcuts app, or Siri Suggestions

Keep in mind that "Third-party apps need to support Siri Shortcuts before you can add them to Siri. If you don't see a shortcut for a third-party app, check the App Store to see if the app supports Siri Shortcuts."

If you have a suggestion that is currently not available, you can always leave Apple feedback here:

Product Feedback

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Thanks for replying back to us, robertinjo.

You are wanting to make a shortcut for Siri, so we provided an article to do so. We apologize if that was not what you were wanting. Can you give us more information about what didn't work specifically and what you want to make exactly? We're happy to continue assisting.

Thanks and have a good day.

I just want a simple shortcut when I wake up in the morning that I’m able to say for example good morning Siri and then that she tells me what’s the current time and weather it’s all I want, on Google assistant it’s way much better it’s just like a morning routine, I think that siri shortcuts are just a waste of time and too complicated

Alancito actually wrote one for you which you can set to run when you say Hey Siri, Good Morning. Oddly enough this is the reverse of what normally occurs on the two OS versions, android usually allows more customer modification while Apple is more in the way of we know what you want. You can more easily do what you want in android (depending on the phone model and version) as it is built in but developing shortcuts/programing for android is much more limited. Apple currently has no such good morning feature but has lots of shortcuts that can be customized for the users needs. There are many places on the web where you can find Shortcuts that others have created and you can copy.

You can make a request to Apple that they build a similar feature and include it, send it here -> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

I used Shortcuts before Apple purchased the company and I like it because I can set up shortcuts that I like but probably you nor anyone else would care to use. And they can be triggered in many ways, not just by Siri. But it sounds like you are more familiar with Google and android so you might want to put your iPhone up for sale (they have good resale value) and go back to an android model that has what you want. It is important to select the right tool for you needs.

thank you for your effort, I am actually very satisfied with iOS and iPhone I just think that Siri needs to be improved and that she’s lagging behind Google assistant, Siri is very important to me because I like to handle things without touching the phone and that’s what is frustrating For me especially because the Siri was first voice assistant
