Keybord on applewatch 7

Hi, it says that you’re gonna be able to write your own textmessages and mails on the watch.

I saw the instructions about how to do it, but when I swipe up on the screen I only get the dictate option and not any qwerty keybord.

Hi Yel81,

We see you're looking for the QWERTY keyboard for your Apple Watch. It looks like you're using an Apple Watch Series 7 with watchOS 8, correct?

Is your device set to either English or Simplified Chinese? At this time, those are the only supported languages for the keyboard: What’s new in Apple Watch and watchOS 8

This covers how to Send messages from Apple Watch. Are you using these steps?

"Create a message on Apple Watch

  1. Open the Messages app  on your Apple Watch.
  2. Scroll to the top of the screen, then tap New Message.
  3. Tap Add Contact, tap a contact in the list of recent conversations that appears, or choose an option:
    • Tap the Microphone button to search for someone in your contacts or to dictate a phone number.
    • Tap the Add Contact button to choose from your full list of contacts.
    • Tap the Keypad button to enter a phone number.
  1. Tap Create Message.
  2. If you've set up your Apple Watch to use more than one language, tap Language, then choose a language.

Compose a text message

You can compose a message in a variety of ways—most of them on a single screen. After creating a message, tap the Create Message field, then do one or a combination of the following:

  • Use the QWERTY and QuickPath keyboard: (Apple Watch Series 7 only) Tap characters to enter them or use the QuickPath keyboard to slide from one letter to the next without lifting your finger (not available for all languages). To end a word, lift your finger.
  • If you don’t see the keyboard, swipe up from the bottom, then tap the Keyboard button."

Let us know! Best wishes.
