MacBook Pro goes into a coma when I close lid

Hi, I have a 2016 13 inch MacBook Pro 2.9ghz dual core intel core i5 using latest OS Monterey 12.3.1.

When I close the lid screen. goes black and will not wake up.Only the keyboard seems to show signs of life after pressing caps lock.I have tried starting it in safe mode and same problem occurs.The only way to regain screen is a force reboot," annoying".Screen was replaced a couple of years ago but it was by authorised repairer and was fine.Anyone else having this problem?Any help on this issue would be much appreciated thanks.
