whatsapp Backup issues

I reinstalled the whatsapp application due to some crashing problems and I upgraded my phone storage then I kept waiting for the backup more than 4 hours then I contacted the customer support and they provided me a fake solution and it wasted my time and I lost all my previous messages and it’s vary big problem for me kindly assist if you can get them back
