One option is to restore them from an iPhone backup that you have been regularly making to either iTunes or iCloud.

Similar questions

ALL bank related contacts disappeared upon new phone upgrade. I mean ALL. For any contact with the letters b a n k all gone. ie food bank & coldwell BANKer. All other contacts came through ok. Any one have any ideas besides i got hacked?
