I installed a back up of my iPhone 11 after deleting some data inadvertently.
Data from the Fitness app is missing - e.g. all runs, walks etc.
The backup was from my laptop.
Any ideas?

In Finder, did you have the "Encrypt local backup" checked? This setting protects your sensitive personal data and I suspect that your fitness data is part of it.
That's why. Health and fitness data is not included in an iTunes/finder backup unless the backup is encrypted.
If you have an iCloud backup that will include all data.

Data from 2015 to 2020 is there, but nothing from September 2020 to now.
Does this mean there's no way to get it back then?
Hi, no I don't have an iCloud back up - that storage is full.
Perhaps that was backed up to September 2020, and that's why that came back?
