I have set Safari as my default browser on my iphone but when I click on a link, in an email for instance, it always opens in Chrome. How do I stop that happening? I want to use Safari as the default browser, and only use Chrome when I choose it.

In the gmail app tap the hamburger menu in the upper left, then scroll down and tap Settings, then Default Apps. You can change the default browser there, as well as other default apps.

Thanks for replying to my question.
It's the gmail app.
I have set Safari as the default browser in Settings but it gets overridden by Chrome.
I am using an iphone 11 btw, with ios 15 - not what apple says above.
Are you using the built in email app, or the gmail app?
You can go to Settings/Chrome and select your default browser.
