When creating graphics in Photoshop for importation into Final Cut, there are options for the pixel aspect ratio:
D1/DV NTSC 0.91,
D1/DV PAL 1.09 (probably only Europe),
D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 1.21,
HDV 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 1.33,
D1/DV PAL Widescreen 1.46 (probably only Europe),
(Anamorphic)
DVCPRO HD 1080 1.5.
Which one should be used for 1920x1080 American production/distribution?

In case it was not clear from the previous replies (as there was some emphasis on DV):
Use SQUARE pixels, i.e. 1:1, for any "modern" material.

All HD after tape and higher resolutions use square pixels. They stopped the madness. Rather than using pixel aspect ratios you should use the equivalent square pixel format like 640x480 for NTSC DV.
DV pixel aspect ratios are:
4:3 NTSC = (4/3)/(710.85/486) = 4320/4739 = 0.91
16:9 NTSC = (16/9)/(710.85/486) = 5760/4739 = 1.22
4:3 PAL = (4/3)/(702/576) = 128/117 = 1.09
16:9 PAL = (16/9)/(702/576) = 512/351 = 1.46

Thanks, guys. I have usually used square pixels, but was surprised by the new Photoshop upgrade offering all the options.
