iTunes music - do I require a subscription for adding to my personal listening library?

my main system is about to be replaced (iMac) and I’m just realizing I can’t seem to buy songs to add to my current library. We use our library to listen to while RVing or in our vehicles. Can I still purchase songs without having to be forced to a subscription? I do not believe in subscriptions. This is not a necessity in life. Hopefully I’m missing something….just don’t see the pricing anymore on the songs?

Hi,

Whilst iTunes has been replaced by music app on newer MacOS, the new app offers the same facilities for playing music. What happened to iTunes? – Apple Support (UK).

You don’t need to subscribe to Apple Music and can still buy music from iTunes Store Buy music from the iTunes Store – Apple Support (UK).

Thank you for the quick response....

I have a 2012 iMAC with latest OS (Catalina 10.15.7) and it has "MUSIC" app. When I launch it and try to "SEARCH" for other types of music it will not share pricing plus the pop up occurs (extremely annoying)...I should be able to answer Not Now just once........ Its related to searching for specific artists or years etc. The only search "ENTRY" area in in the MUSIC app is "top left" where the Magnifying glass icon is..... I enter say "70's classic"..... artists albums come up, no pricing and then if I click on anything....the "subscription" notice comes up with two choices.......

I must be missing something.....?
