The hide photos option is no longer available on my iPhone 12.

Why do I no longer have the options to put photos into the hidden folder? The hide photos action is not there and not under edit actions either. Running iOS 15.4.1.

On iOS 16 the "Hide" option has been moved to the Actions menu - the button with the three dots (•••) to the right of "Edit".

Hi Coop1996,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Apple Support have an article online for iOS15

Delete and hide photos and videos on iPhone – Apple Support (AU)

Eg: says:

  • Hide: Tap , then tap Hide in the list of options.
  • Hidden photos are moved to the Hidden album. You can’t view them anywhere else.
  • To turn off the Hidden album so it doesn’t appear in Albums, go to Settings  > Photos, then turn off Hidden Album.

Hope this helps :-)

I am seeing the "Hide" option even, if the Hidden album is hidden. It would not be very convenient, if we would have to toggle the Hidden Album on and off, to be able to hide photos. It would be error prone, as we could forget to hide the Hidden album again.

Perhaps the photos have been selected in an album, where we cannot hide them, for example in a shared album. We can only hide photos from the library, but not shared photos.

The hide photos option is no longer available on my iPhone 12.
