iPhone 12 screen is black but it vibrates

Hi there, my phone is fully charged but the screen is black and it won’t switch on. When I put the charger back in , it makes the vibrating sound that lets me know it’s charging but still won’t turn on? Any help on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thanks
