Airdrop sometimes works, sometimes doesn't

Haven't been able to figure out why Airdrop sometimes will work fine, and with no other settings changed, will not work. Bluetooth is on between my 13Pro and my MacBook Pro, but nothing happens. Little dots appear around the icon on my iPhone of my MacBook and it says "Waiting" forever... Other times it works perfectly. I've tried restarting my Mac, turning off and on Bluetooth on both. Still no change.

Hi StephanDavid,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! Do you use any type of VPN or other third-party security software on your devices that might affect connectivity? The following article can help you check:

Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

On your iPhone we recommend checking the following:

1-Settings > Safari > Content Blockers.

2- Settings > General > VPN.

3- Settings > General > Profile.

If any of these are installed, temporarily delete them and test the issue. If the issue remains, the next step is resetting the network settings. The steps can be located in the following article under the section "Still can't connect?":

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't connect to a Wi-Fi network

Test the issue again, if it remains, we recommend that you reach out to Apple Support directly. Please reach out here:

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
