iCloud error message

I can't sign into iCloud or iTunes on my MacBook Pro - an error message appears saying 'Account Details could not be opened because of an error connecting to iCloud'! I don't have the option to sign in to iTunes either and have no idea how to fix this. I can sign in on my iMac and phone just not on my laptop. Please help
