Automator thumbnail replication run amok

Last week I created a thumbnail of a photo using Automator and the thumbnail was saved to my desktop. Yesterday the thumbnail file started replicating by the thousands on my desktop. I deactivated the action in Folder Action Setup to no avail. I deleted related files in Automator. No malware has been detected. I have shut the computer down multiple times, but the replicating continues. I'm using a MacBook Air running Mojave 10.14.6. Any help would be appreciated.

Unless you are purposely saving that generated thumbnail outside of the designed folder for the folder action, each time you create a thumbnail in that folder or write anything within it, the Automator folder action will run in a continuous loop due to it detecting the write activity.
