OK, thanks for the information.

One thing to mention before we get started though.......the A1355 version of the Time Capsule is at least 10+ years old, and as much as almost 12 depending on when the product was originally placed into service.

The average useful life of this model was about 5-7 years, so you have had very good luck with your product. But the power supply and hard drive inside the Time Capsule are frankly overdue to fail, so you would not want to continue to store any data on the Time Capsule that you cannot afford to lose.

It won't hurt to continue to try to use the Time Capsule, but my recommendation would be for you to also back up to a USB drive connected directly to your MacBook Air, which is hopefully a 2015 model......and not a 2005 model that you mention above.

Setting up the Time Capsule to work with the Eero router may or may not be fairly easy. It all depends on how the Time Capsule is set up now.

You should be able to connect your MacBook Air to the Wi-Fi signal that is generated by the Time Capsule by selecting the name of the Wi-Fi network from the menu at the top of the Mac's screen.

If this is still working, and you can connect to the Time Capsule this way.........

Open AirPort Utility on your Mac (Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)

Click on the picture of the Time Capsule

Click Edit in the smaller window that appears

Click the Network tab at the top of the window

Check to see what the current setting for the Router Mode might be. It will be either DHCP and NAT, or Off (Bridge Mode).

Please report on the current setting that you see.

Another method would have you resetting the Time Capsule back to its default settings and then setting it up all over again from scratch.....a much more involved process. We are trying to avoid having you go this route unless it is absolutely necessary. That is why we are asking about the current Router Mode setting on the Time Capsule, which may provide some real shortcuts in the setup process.

If you want to go ahead and reset the Time Capsule and start all over again, we can provide the instructions for this type of setup if you need them.

As far as needing a new product, my suggestion would be to replace the Time Capsule since it is much older than your Mac. But, it's your call.
