Thanks for reaching out! I'm not sure what region you are located in, however in Canada for an iPad 7th Generation, if you purchased AppleCare+ for the device and it is still active the service fee would be $49 CAD, otherwise without AppleCare+ your service fee would be $329 CAD.

Out-of-warranty repairs are typically charged as a fixed fee of c.60% of the “as new” cost of the iPad. If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, this being an insurance product, the fee is reduced to a small excess/deductible charge.

Unless you have a recent model iPad, many consider the repair charge to be uneconomic - often preferring to spend this money towards a current model iPad that will almost certainly have higher specification, more powerful CPU and potentially more RAM.
