Keyboard type from ANSI to ISO

Since I've upgraded my OS to Monterey, my external bluetooth keyboard switched from ISO to ANSI layout, and I can't switch back.

I went to "System preferences > Keyboard > Change keyboard type…" and I set the layout to ISO. Nothing changed, and when I went there back again, the layout was still set on ANSI.

I can’t work like this, could someone please help?

Thanks!

Thank you Tom for your reply!

I'm using just one language (italian).

The keys that have issues are mainly the ones that input the punctuation, like \, <, >, ]… and so on. Letters and numbers turn out fine when I digit them.

My keybord is an Iclever IC-DK03.

It looks like I fixed the issue by removing my keyboard preferences

sudo rm /Library/Preferences/com.apple.keyboardtype.plist

then restarting, then setting up the keyboard with the keyboard setup assistant. Let's hope the setting to ISO will stick and not revert back to ANSI.

If you have a better method to fix this permanently, I'm all ears! :)
